The Florida Bermuda Moose Association and all of its member lodges are active in a variety of Community Service in their areas. Moose International has a Six Point Program that recognizes lodges for their outstanding work in the area of Community Service. When the results are known as to the various levels the lodges have achieved for the year 2004-2005, they will be listed on this page.

One of the current activities that the Florida Bermuda Moose Association is promoting is the:Quarter Per Quarter Program

This program consists of collecting quarters in each lodge every 3 months (a quarter) for a different project. The current program is set as follows:

1st – Quarter - FBMA Scholarship Fund

2nd - Quarter - Yellowstone Youth Conservation Corps

3rd – Quarter - FBMA Building at Moosehaven Maintenance Fund

4th - Quarter - FBMA Special Projects (Seawall, etc) 

Other community projects are MDA, Florida Sheriff Youth Ranch, “Tommy Moose”, “Donny Moose”, Scouting, Special Olympics, Youth Sports, Youth Awareness and our continuing support of Mooseheart and Moosehaven. This listing can’t possibly cover every individual lodge's special projects

MDA is a voluntary health agency in the fight against over 43 neuromuscular diseases. MDA is not a United Way agency, nor do they receive any federal, state or local funding. It provides clinic visits, assistance in the purchase of wheelchairs, leg braces, etc. Your donations assure that these very important programs WILL continue.

 $75  One physical, occupational or respiratory therapy consultation
 $100  One support group session
 $200  Professional fees related to initial diagnostic work-up at an MDA clinic 
 $450  Sends one child to MDA summer camp
 $500  Assists one person for one year with the repair of a wheelchair or leg braces
 $2,000  Assists one person with the purchase of a wheelchair or leg braces

 75% of every dollar MDA spends goes directly to research, health care services and education
 MDA provides $77.8 million a year on its Health Care Services Program
MDA provides some $28 million a year on research and funds some 400 projects worldwide
MDA maintains some 230 hospital-affiliated clinics including 24 MD/ALS Centers
MDA sponsors 85 week long summer camp sessions each year serving some 4,823 young people across  the country and in Puerto Rico. Over 5,340 volunteers give a week of their time to serve as camp  counselors at MDA camps.
